Understanding Offline Transaction Scams
Offline transaction scams are the most common type of fraud, where criminals often lure users with low-priced goods, high returns, or high coin buying prices. After inducing users to transfer their digital assets to the scammer's account, the scammer refuses to deliver the goods or blacklists/deletes the user, causing the user to lose their assets for nothing.
Scam 1: Inducing users to purchase "low-priced goods" Scammers contact users through social media platforms like Telegram and WeChat, offering products such as recharge cards, fuel cards, phone cards, game accounts, software, mobile phones, QQ numbers, and mobile data at prices below market value. After users transfer their digital assets to the scammer's account as instructed, the scammer refuses to deliver the goods or blacklists/deletes the user.
Scam 2: Offline coin buying and selling Attracting users to sell coins at prices above the market rate, and after the user transfers the coins, the scammer blacklists them.
Scam 3: Inducing users to transfer coins to scam platforms Using high returns as bait, users are induced to transfer their coins to scam platforms like pig butchering plates to trade. Initially, users may see some profits, but later, as they invest more funds, they continue to incur losses or are required to pay a deposit to prevent them from withdrawing their coins.
How to prevent?
Be cautious of private messages sent by strangers through Telegram, IM, WeChat, and other social media platforms, and do not easily trust them. Avoid the mentality of seeking undue advantage, as it can be exploited by criminals. Do not be credulous of enticing information. Private transactions carry significant risks. Do not trust information on social media platforms that induce the use of digital assets for virtual recharge card transactions, such as high buying prices or low selling prices. Be wary of any information claiming "high returns." SAFEX does not encourage users to conduct private transactions outside the platform. If a scam occurs, the platform will not be able to assist in resolving the issue. Please try to operate on official trading platforms. If a transaction is risky or you discover you've been scammed, terminate the transaction immediately and minimize your losses.
